OUR REACH
serving our community and beyond
WE'RE ON A MISSION
We're on a mission to reach others with the gospel and share the love of God with them.
IN OUR COMMUNITY
Our first focus when we began The Orchard Church was to reach our community for Christ. Through the Seamless Summer Program, Chamber events, Vacation Bible School, and off-campus events we've been able to do just that.
AROUND THE WORLD
As our church family and connections grew, we began reaching out globally through Kerring for Kenya, an organization committed to helping support pastors and their families serve their congregations effectively. It's a ministry close to our hearts, thanks to one of our elders, Justin Chadwick.
Our Guatemalan community is the childhood home of one of our deacons, Sergio Perez. One summer, Pastor Steve tagged along with the Perez family on their vacation back there to check it out. Since then, we've supported them during the building of their church and hope to plan a mission trip there in the future.
GILMER COUNTY
Our first priority, reaching our community for Christ. We do that in a variety of ways. Here are a few of the opportunities we have had: the Seamless Summer program; downtown events (July 4th, Halloween & Light-Up Ellijay); Easter at River Park; Back[packs] to School; Teacher Breakfast; Feed the Football Team; HopeTree; Vacation Bible School; and Breakfast with Santa.
As opportunities change, we're always looking for new ways to serve our community and share the gospel and love of Christ with them.
KENYA
Kerring for Kenya is a mission-driven organization dedicated to supporting the efforts of the Antioch Baptist Churches of Kenya. Their focus is on empowering pastors and their families to serve their congregations effectively by providing them with the tools and training to evangelize, disciple, and support the needs of various Kenyan communities. By alleviating the financial burdens often associated with ministry in impoverished and remote areas, they help pastors devote more time and energy to spreading the Gospel and building thriving church communities. We're blessed to be able to support them! Click the button below to visit their website and learn more about this wonderful organization.
GUATEMALA
Two elders and two deacons walked into a church building in Guatemala. It is an old, run-down awful building. Pastor Secundino is trying to get his new church building built. His congregation has raised enough money for four walls and a roof, but still needed a floor, windows, and front doors.
We prayed about it, and funded the completion of their building by sending them $12,000 from our Guatemala fund in the first quarter so they could begin meeting there as soon as possible! We're happy to report that the church building is complete and services are in full swing. Their first service was December 21, 2022!
We hope to plan a mission trip in the future.
